About Us

Our Story

We are high school sweethearts who never imagined this is where life would lead us. Right after graduation, my husband chose to serve his country in the military, a path that took us far from home. For years, we built a life chasing what we thought mattered, success, stability, and financial security.

After leaving the military, he spent years in government contracting, working overseas and providing well for our family. On the outside, it looked like we had everything. But something was missing.

In 2019, while living in Whitefish, Montana, we made a spontaneous decision that would change everything. We sold it all, bought a fifth wheel, and set out to travel as a family with our two children and a sense of adventure. My husband continued working overseas, flying in and out as needed.

In early 2020, everything came to a halt. While visiting family in Georgia, his flight back overseas was grounded as international travel shut down. Weeks turned into months, and suddenly the life we had built was gone, no steady income, no home beyond our camper, and no clear plan forward.

What felt like everything falling apart was, in reality, something far greater coming together. We were parked on my family’s six-generation farmland, land that had not been worked in nearly a century, and in that stillness, the Lord began to change our hearts. We had spent years chasing the world’s version of success, and in losing it all, we were shown a different way, a better way.

What followed was humbling and refining, a complete shift in how we saw life, provision, and purpose. The desire for status and material things faded, and in its place grew a deep conviction for something more meaningful, raising our now five children close to the land, growing our own food, and building a life rooted in faith, stewardship, and intention.

What started as a calling has become Wannabe Farms, a regenerative, family-run farm built on faith, hard work, and a commitment to doing things differently. We believe this farm has been entrusted to us, and we are committed to stewarding it well, raising clean, honest food, and serving our community with integrity. Everything we have, and everything we do here, is His, and we do not take that lightly.
