Our Story
We’re Seth and Evan Weatherup—high school sweethearts turned farmers, raising our five children on sixth-generation land in Barnesville, Georgia. We never planned to return here, but the God of the universe knew exactly where we needed to be.
After years out West chasing careers and comfort, we sold everything to travel full-time in a camper. We stopped in Georgia to visit family—and then the world shut down. COVID-19 halted Seth’s government contracting job, and we found ourselves unexpectedly grounded on Evan’s childhood farm. That’s when God planted a new vision in our hearts.
Instead of chasing wealth and status, we began investing in something real: the land beneath our feet. We started reviving the soil using regenerative farming practices, growing our own food, and learning through trial, error, and a whole lot of grace. For years, we were simply wannabe farmers—making mistakes, doing things backward, and growing slowly. But with each step, God was building something lasting.
Wannabe Farms was born not from a desire for riches or retirement, but out of responsibility and calling. Our farm isn’t a trend or a hobby. It’s a way to feed our family—and yours—with clean, pastured poultry raised the right way. We use a certified organic, soy-free, corn-free, non-GMO feed and care deeply about how our animals are raised, how our soil is treated, and what goes on your table.
We don’t just raise chickens—we raise standards. We steward this land with gratitude, raise our animals with dignity, and wake up every morning believing that faith, hard work, and honesty still matter. Every bird we raise is part of a bigger mission to reconnect families to real food and transparent farming.
From early morning feed deliveries to late-night egg collection, it’s all hands on deck here—kids included.
